Roque says MRT ride not a PR stunt

By , on December 22, 2017

Firm in his intentions, Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said on Thursday that him riding the Metro Rail Transit (MRT3) was not a PR stunt but a way for the palace to know the commuter’s troubles in using MRT.

“It is important for the Palace to know the state of the MRT and that is the reason why we are here now,” Roque told the media.

He also said that it’s not a PR stunt because he actually rides the MRT regularly.

The presidential spokesperson had a comfortable ride from North Avenue to Taft Avenue station, but said it was expected since it is not a rush hour.

He stressed that “We can imagine the struggle of our commuters especially on peak hours, queues are longer because there is a shortage of train coaches.”

“I think we have sent a message that we know the pulse of our nation, the hardships of the commuters. And the message is that we are doing everything to lessen their struggles,” he added.
