Duterte, Trump agreed to a bilateral meet at ASEAN summit

By , on December 22, 2017

A bilateral meeting on the 31st Association of Southeast Asian (ASEAN) Summit in November between President Rodrigo Duterte and US President Donald Trump is set to happen as both have agreed “in principle” to hold one.

This was according to the ASEAN 2017 National Organizing Council director general for operations, Marciano Paynor Jr.

However, the exact schedule and the concerns to be discussed have not yet been finalized.

On Wednesday, Paynor said that “an agreement in principle” is yet to be reached and the details of the meeting were “still being discussed.”

Paynor added that Duterte and Trump’s bilateral talk will possibly happen in the sidelines of the ASEAN-US meeting.

“It is only a question of time, and timing,” he said.
