De Lima pained after SC junked her bid to nullify arrest

By , on December 22, 2017

The detained Senator Leila de Lima expressed her disappointment on Wednesday over the Supreme Court’s decision to junk her plea to halt her arrest.

According to her the recent ruling legitimizes oppression and political persecution.

She said that junking her plea only proves the severity that “Dutertism” has influenced reasoning.

“The SC’s majority decision tells us the extent to which Dutertism has distorted reason, suppressed the truth and rejected the primacy of conscience,” De Lima said in a statement.

She also called on the nine justices who voted against her petition, saying that she hopes they would experience “pain of someone who is sent to prison and yet is innocent of any crime, and has merely fallen victim to the strong arm of the State and the President’s deeply-rooted vengeance against her.”

De Lima said that her camp will appeal the decision of the SC.
