Gordon links PMA alumni to drug smuggling

The senate blue ribbon committee discovered the possible involvement of some graduates of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) in the smuggling of P6.4 billion worth of illegal drugs from China through the Bureau of Customs (BOC).

Committee chair, Sen. Richard Gordon, said that some of the key players were from PMA, adding that “it’s an old boys’ club.”
The senator was pertaining to Teofilo Joseph Bacud, a certain Jack Cabalza, retired Col. Allen Capuyan, BOC Command Center chief Gerardo Gambala and former BOC Deputy Commissioner Milo Maestrecampo.
It was Ruben Jr., the father of the whistle blower, Mark Taguba II, who revealed the identities of Cabalza and Bacud.
