MANILA — UBTech Robotics has launched Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia the Star Wars First Order Stormtrooper robots in the Philippine market.

UBTech’s Stormtrooper robots will be available in the Philippine market next month through its exclusive distributor here, Banbros Commercial, Inc.

Banbros president Michael Bangayan told reporters in a briefing that UBTech is the first robotics firm to launch Star Wars First Order Stormtrooper robots.

The Stormtrooper has first and third person augmented reality (AR) app modes, voice commands, facial recognition, and sentry patrolling.

“There is market for robots in the Philippines,” Bangayan said, noting that there is a growing demand for robots in the education sector.

The Chinese robotics firm’s products cater to entertainment, education, and commercial needs.

Meanwhile, Banbros started the pre-ordering of Stormtrooper robots since November 15, and will be available in the market by December 15.

The Stormtrooper robot is priced at PHP24,999.

Its launching is in time for the release of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” film next month.
