QUEZON CITY — Two nights after wrecking havoc in Quezon province, Ginebra showed that it has ice in its veins in Quezon City.

The Barangay is now up 2-0 in the PBA Governors’ Cup Finals with an 86-76 win over the Meralco Bolts in Game 2 in front of  a 16,159 crowd at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday night.

Ginebra waxed hot in crunch time, closing the game on a 17-1 run that overturned a 69-75 deficit.

Justin Brownlee came up big in the fourth quarter, firing eight of his 19 points in the final 12 minutes while also tallying 13 rebounds, seven assists, and two steals.

LA Tenorio also came up big down the stretch, scoring seven of his 14 points within the final 2:44 of the game.

Greg Slaughter, who was named the Best Player of the Conference earlier Sunday, struggled offensively, only making three points on 1-of-6 shooting, but his defense mattered as he blocked three shots.

Allen Durham showed why he deserves to be called the Best Import of the Conference after leading Meralco with 25 points, 22 boards, seven assists, and two steals, but he failed to deliver in the clutch.
