MANILA— Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa has ordered the police to beef up visibility in malls and other heavily crowded areas to curb the increase of crime incidents during ‘ber-months’.

This precaution is needed as crime volume during the pre-Christmas season increases due to the high number of people engaging in Christmas shopping and other similar activities.

Aside from keeping tight watch of mall goers, Dela Rosa also instructed the police to continue the crackdown on illegal drugs.

He added the PNP National Operations Center is constantly monitoring the crime trend so that police commanders can be immediately notified of any crime increase in their areas of operation.
