Thai challenger confident of victory

DAVAO CITY — Thai challenger Jakkrawut Majoogoen is confident of dethroning defending International Boxing Federation (IBF) Youth super flyweight champion Jade Bornea in their championship fight on September 9 at the Polomolok Gym in Polomolok, South Cotabato.

“Jade Bornea is just new to pro boxing and only has fought a few fights. I think that is an advantage that will help me a lot to win. I am very confident,” said Majoogoen, a former WBC World youth champion.

Majoogen has 19 wins with 11 knockouts against only one loss while Bornea has only fought eight times but won all of them. “I am training hard for this fight as this is for IBF title and I want to bring it to my country,” said Majoogoen.

Fighting in Bornea’s hometown doesn’t even bother Majoogoen a bit.

“There is no problem fighting first the time outside Thailand. I think it’s better as I am motivated and excited to win,” he said. Majoogoen said fighting in the Philippine soil will help shape his career.

“It’s a make or break for me to fight Bornea. I would know my real ability especially that I will be fighting in his country,” said Majoogen. “I also need to prove myself. Prove that I am not only good only in Thailand but also in other places. I want to show my talent all over the world,” he said.

Bornea, on the other hand, said that he will be out to prove that he has what it takes to beat the best fighters in the division.
