Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog and her brother Reynaldo Jr., who were arrested in a drug raid on July 30, have tested negative for drug use, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Tuesday.

In a press briefing, Superintendent Ramos Bergonia of the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory said that the screening test conducted on the urine specimens of the arrested living persons have negative result for methamphetamine (shabu) and THC-metabolites (marijuana), which are both dangerous drugs.

The other 11, who were arrested along with the Parojinog siblings, also underwent a drug test and resulted negative for drugs from the urine samples that were collected.

On July 31, the siblings underwent the drug test as they were brought to the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame, a day after the police raided their homes in Ozamiz City. The deadly raid caused the deaths of their parents, Mayor Reynaldo and Susan Parojinog, as well as the lives of the mayor’s siblings, Provincial Board Member Octavio Parojinog and Mona Parojinog.

The vice mayor and her brother were arrested in a police operation after authorities found half a kilogram of suspected shabu, unlicensed firearms, and P1.4 million in cash.
