MANILA—Warm weather will prevail due to the ridge of high pressure area but isolated rainshowers is expected due to the easterlies, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Wednesday.

In its 24-hour forecast, PAGASA said partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Weather forecaster Loriedin Dela Cruz said the ridge of a high pressure area is extending across Luzon, and the easterlies continue to affect the eastern part of Visayas and Mindanao.

Light to moderate winds blowing from east to southeast will prevail over Luzon, and from east to northeast over Visayas and Mindanao.

The country’s coastal waters will be slight to moderate, PAGASA said.
