MANILA—Infrastructure damage caused by the magnitude 6.7 earthquake that struck Surigao City and the province of Surigao Del Norte has now reached the PHP699,048,532.91 mark.
This was disclosed by National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) executive director Ricardo Jalad in Thursday’s update.
This can be broken down into:
*Roads – PHP14,250,000; *Bridges – PHP89,200,000; *Caraga Regional Hospital – PHP7,000,000; *Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center – PHP2,000,000; *Surigao State College of Technology – PHP7,698,000; *Surigao City Campus – PHP150,000,000; *Quezon Campus – PHP12,000,000; *Port Facilities – PHP161,500,000; *Electric Power – PHP7,309,532.91; *Water Supply – PHP1,700,000; *San Francisco Infrastructure and Residential Houses – PHP27,000,000; *Provincial Government Building/Infrastructure – PHP104,391,000; and *Provincial Bridge (Ana-aon Bridge) – PHP115,000,000.
Jalad said a total of 3,331 families or around 16,655 people in 60 barangays were affected in Surigao Del Norte.
Eight persons were also confirmed killed in Feb. 10 earthquake which took place around 10:03 p.m.
Around 202 persons were also wounded in the tremor with 3,257 houses damaged, with 215 totally damaged.
