MANILA— The Premium Airport Bus Express launched Monday its newest terminal at Robinson’s Place Manila to further provide an alternative mode of public transportation and ease traffic congestion in roads leading to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

The Ultimate Bus Experience (UBE) Express hub at Robinson’s Place Manila seeks to offer a convenient way of travel between Manila and the NAIA terminals.

Its bus service route includes stops at Heritage Hotel, Midas Hotel, Hotel Jen,Century Park Hotel, Diamond Hotel, Luneta Hotel, New World Hotel, Pan Pacific Hotel, Bayview Hotel, Manila Pavilion, Manila Hotel, Bayleaf Hotel, and Robinsons Place Manila, from 6a.m.-11pm.

Ube Express President Garrie David said the premium airport bus express aims to ferry passengers directly to NAIA Terminals 1, 2, and 3 in one and a half hours.

“With the support given to us by Robinson’s Place Manila, UBE Express can now provide service to the Filipino people especially OFWs by providing quality transportation – convenient, comfortable, and world class quality. Because in UBE Express, we want to give every Filipino an Ultimate Bus Experience,” David explained.

For his part, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Assistant Secretary for Land Transportation Mark De Leon said the 24-seater UBE Express airport service will help lessen cars going to the NAIA terminals.

Its bus, a Mercedes-Benz MCV C 120 Low-Entry model, that features state-of-the-art technology including Euro V and BlueTec engine, smooth steering, powerful braking systems, low-entry design, body design with high force absorption, PWD compatibility, ergonomically sound seats and ample room.

Other supporting components of the service include online booking service, GPS tracking, a mobile tracking app, radio communications, on-board WiFi, CCTV cameras, the exclusive usage of Petron fuel and e-ticketing technology (e.g. tap card and credit card).

“UBE Express not only increases travel capacity to and from NAIA and improves the weaknesses of existing modes, but more importantly, it’s a significant step forward for the Philippine transportation landscape. Our goal is to become the preferred airport shuttle service in the country and to provide the Filipino people and our visitors the Ultimate Bus Experience,” David said.

The UBE Express routes currently covers a large base of stops located at hotels, malls and provincial bus terminals strategically located in key areas such as Makati CBD, Entertainment City, Roxas Boulevard and Intramuros, that the existing bus and jeepneys in nearby NAIA do not serve without transfers.

It plans to further expand its routes to include other key locations in Metro Manila.

The DOTr and its attached agency Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has initiated the Airport Bus Service project with the goal of augmenting the current public transport services in the NAIA terminals.

The initiative is a direct response to the public demand for more efficient and commuter-friendly transport services option for those going to and from NAIA Terminals 1-3.
