MANILA – Veteran journalist and TV anchor Teddy Boy Locsin has accepted the post as ambassador to the United Nations, Presidential Communications Operations (PCO) Secretary Martin Andanar confirmed on Sunday.
Andanar said the former congressman has accepted the post after meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte at the Bahay Pangarap in Malacanang.
“Cong. Locsin said he accepted the position as UN ambassador,” Andanar said in a press statement.
Andanar said Locsin would release a statement once he returns from an overseas trip on Tuesday.
Locsin served as House representative of Makati from 2001 to 2010.
At the time of his appointment, Locsin is a host of shows for the ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC).
