SC releases promulgated ruling acquitting ex-President Arroyo of plunder case

By , on July 21, 2016

MANILA – The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday released its promulgated decision acquitting former President and now Pampanga (2nd District) Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo of the plunder case for insufficiency of evidence for the alleged misuse of the PHP366-million confidential intelligence fund of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

This means that all the magistrates of the highest court of the land have already signed the promulgated decision on the plunder case of Mrs. Arroyo as well as the deliberations of the case.

According to SC Clerk of Court Atty. Felipa B. Anama, they received at 1:18 p.m. on Thursday the copy of the decision, including the dissenting and concurring opinions of some of the SC magistrates.

Because of this, the process server of the SC has left the SC compound to serve the official copy of the promulgated decision in the case of the former president to the Sandiganbayan.

Once the Sandiganbayan receives the copy of the promulgated decision, the “immediately executor” order for the release of Mrs. Arroyo will be implemented.
