MANILA – The Bureau of Immigration has included former Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, director general Alan Purisima, and 10 others in its alert list.

But Purisima and his co-accused in the graft charges before the Sandiganbayan are not barred from leaving the country as the BI order only advises authorities about their attempt to enter and exit the country.

“Accordingly, all Immigration officers are directed to promptly relay any pertinent thing to their entry or exit, or their attempt to enter or exit the country to the Philippine National Police (PNP) or the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and refer subject to the PNP or NBI whenever encountered at any port of entry,” the order said.

Aside from Purisima, also placed under alert list are Gil Calaguio Meneses, Napoleon Romero Estilles, Allan Acong Parreño, Melchor Velasquez Reyes, Ford Guerrero Tuazon, Mario G. Juan, Salud R. Bautista, Enrique S. Valerio, Lorna Perena, Juliana Pasta, all facing graft charges in connection with the anomalous gun license courier deal in 2011.

The case is now pending before the Sixth Division of the anti-graft court.
