Award-winning thespian Snooky Serna has learned to embrace her character, the sneaky and arrogant Deborah, in the Kapuso Network’s weeknight drama, Poor Señorita.
“Noong una, parang naiilang ako kasi hindi ko forte ang comedy. Pero noong bandang huli, ay okay na [I wasn’t that comfortable at first because comedy is not my forte. But it turned out well in the end],” admits the veteran actress, who starred in numerous blockbuster hits in the 80’s.
She was pleasantly surprised to be enjoying comedy as seen in her effective performance.
“I was not really expecting a lot from myself. Sabi ko [I told myself], I will just enjoy the ride and I will just enjoy being in the company of Regine Velasquez, Sheena Halili, Mikael Daez, and everybody,” she shares.
She also credits the Asia’s Songbird for making working on the set of Poor Señortia an enjoyable experience. “Aminin natin na yung nagse-set ng tone ay yung bida. And we have to give it to Regine. Ang gaan niyang ka-trabaho, palaging good vibes [It is really the lead star who sets the tone. And we have to give it to Regine. It’s so easy to work with her. Our set is filled with nothing but good vibes,” says Snooky.
Poor Señorita airs worldwide on GMA’s flagship international channel, GMA Pinoy TV.
