BAGUIO CITY – The Supreme Court (SC) has allowed the granting of the first tranche of salary increases under Executive Order (EO) No. 201, Associate Justice Jose P. Perez announced during his speech at the Philippine Association of Court Employees (PACE) National Convention on Wednesday.
President Benigno S. Aquino III signed EO No. 201 early this year which modified the salary schedule for civilian government personnel and authorized the grant of additional benefits for both civilian and military and uniformed personnel (MUP).
The Executive Order was issued after the 16th Congress failed to pass the proposed Salary Standardization Law of 2015.
Because of the deadlock, the proposed Salary Standardization Law of 2015 failed to pass the 16th Congress.
Aside from the salary increase, Perez also updated the employees on medical benefits and creation of family courts.
Perez’ announcement came after court employees held a protest to air demand for a wage increase last Monday.
