KUALA LUMPUR—Malindo Air is expected to receive its 16th Boeing jet next month, closing the year on a high note alongside new route announcements to Australia, China and further points of Asia.
The Malaysian hybrid airline received its 15th Boeing aircraft on Wednesday. Bearing registration number 9M-LNV, it arrived at Subang Skypark from Seattle, the United States.
‘The new aircraft will be operated on regional routes as the airline focuses on progressively expanding its route network internationally this year,” Chief Executive Officer Chandran Rama Muthy said in a statement Thursday.
He said the demand for airlines to connect point-to-point between cities and on underserved routes in Southeast Asia would continue to draw in more tourist arrivals to the region and to the country.
Manlindo Air’s 15th Boeing aircraft brings the airline’s fleet size to 26, including 11 ATR turboprop aircraft.
