Chito Miranda declines P2M offer in endorsing a presidential candidate

By , on October 15, 2015

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Parokya ni Edgar’s vocalist Chito Miranda admitted that he was offered P2 million to endorse a presidential candidate for the 2016 elections, but opted to decline it.

(I was offered P2M to tweet for a presidential candidate. I declined the offer because I want to show my support to Duterte or Miriam even without compensation.)

His tweet gained 3,300 retweets and 5,400 shares after posting it on social media.

(For those who are asking who offered P2 Million, I don’t have any idea also, because the agency doesn’t want to reveal the personality. They want to see if I’m in with their offer.)

Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago announced her presidential bid on Tuesday, Oct. 13 (PH time), and said that she already survived her battle against cancer.

“If I become President sometime in the very near future, this country will be much better than it was before,” Santiago said to Inquirer. She said that she already have a vice president but declined to identify her running-mate.

Meanwhile, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is saying repeatedly that he’s not interested to run for presidential bid, but his supporters hopes that he would eventually change his mind and will run for presidential slate.

Duterte’s daughter Sara, and his councilors in Davao City, showed their support for him by shaving their hairs as a signal that Duterte should run in 2016 presidential elections.
