MANILA — For Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo, Sen. Grace Poe should not run for president in next year’s polls.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News program, Bandila on Tuesday, Robredo said Poe has renounced her being a Filipino and acquired American citizenship and lived in the United States for 14-15 years.
She also noted a distinction between the case of Poe and her husband’s citizenship.
This is following Poe’s comparison of the citizenship question raised against her and the similarity with the question raised against Robredo’s husband.
Robredo said that her husband’s citizenship was questioned because his father was a Chinese who was born in the Philippines.
She added that the case is different with that of Poe’s because her husband never gave up his being a Filipino.
“The premises in the questions on their citizenship are different,” she added.
