
MANILA – Granted temporary freedom, Senator Juan Ponce Enrile returned to the Senate on Monday afternoon after being detained for more than a year at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
Enrile posted a P1.45-million bail last week for the plunder and graft charges filed against him at the Sandiganbayan in connection with his alleged involvement in the P10-billion pork barrel scam by businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles.
The 91-year-old senator was accompanied by an aide, a nurse and his daughter Katrina when he arrived in his office at around 2 p.
m.
Enrile did not entertain questions from the media.
