Super Typhoon ‘Hanna’ enters PAR

MANILA — Super typhoon “Soudelor,” now the strongest tropical cyclone on earth this year, has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday morning.

The typhoon, locally named “Hanna” was located at 1,380 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan.

It has a maximum sustained winds of 195 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 230 kph.

“Hanna” is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon or “habagat” and is likely to move west northwest at 20 kph.

It is also most likely to trigger flash floods and landslides in Mindanao and cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms in Visayas and Palawan.

Metro Manila is also expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms.
