Project NOAH at DOST’s science week
Oscar Victor Lizardo (in white shirt) of the Department of Science and Technology’s (DOST) Project NOAH (Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards) points to the monitor screen showing the NOAH website which indicates presence of a low pressure area as monitored by PAGASA. The NOAH website is featured as a disaster preparedness tool in the ongoing National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) of DOST from July 24-28, 2015 at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
Anatomy of a volcano
Another attraction in the ongoing NSTW 2015 of the DOST is a mock-up model of a volcano at the PHIVOLCS booth. The mock-up is presented in dissected form showing the different parts of a volcano which include the magma, crust and others.
NSTW features other interactive exhibits, scale models, other disaster preparedness tools, and fora on science and technology. More booths include science and technology tools and initiatives for agriculture, industry, small and medium enterprises, information and communications technology, e-government and connectivity, health, and education.
