In a television interview, Manny Pacquiao’s mother, Dionisia “Mommy D” Pacquiao shared her frustration over her son’s defeat against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

(From what I saw last night, it was not [a good fight]. I myself saw how my son punched, and how Mayweather was drawn back. Manny’s strong but he just wasn’t able to knock him down.)

When asked about what she thought of Mayweather’s boxing style and technique, Mommy D could only joke that he fought like a woman.

Parang babae talaga nagsuntok’,” she said.

(I heard [a comment] while I was praying in my seat, I heard [someone say] ‘Gay! He’s really like a woman when he punches’.)

Brought by her anger and frustration on how the fight went, there were several times when Mommy D wanted to enter the ring and punch Mayweather herself.

(Last night, I shouted, ‘Knock him down! I’ll go into the ring myself. I’ll go in [and fight]’, I said. I got angry because he fought dirty. When Manny punches him, he holds [Manny’s arms for defense.] He got hurt still. I saw Mayweather got hurt still. He held Manny’s arms so that Manny couldn’t punch.)

Referee!’ Wala. Hindi napakinggan,” she added. “Foul ‘yan! Foul!

(At the back, I really saw Mayweather’s hands punching the back of my son. I said, ‘Referee! Referee!’ But nothing [was done]. I wasn’t listened to. It was a foul! A foul! But there was no foul written in the record.)

Despite Mommy D’s rage, she said that she wouldn’t take the fight personally against Mayweather should their paths cross.

“Hindi naman ako marunong umaaway. Sa per play, per play lang. [Pero] kung makita ko siya [sasabihin kong], ‘Nanalo ka sa daya mo’,” she said.

(I don’t really argue [with people]. In the game, in the game only. But if I see him, I’ll tell him, ‘You won because you cheated.)

If it was up to Mommy D, she would really want Pacquiao to retire from boxing.
