As the call to save Mary Jane Veloso intensifies in the Philippines, Indonesia and around the world — local Filipino-Canadians and others will head to the Indonesian Consulate on Saturday to show their support for Mary Jane.

“Although she has already been transferred to ‘execution island’ we do not give up hope. Many individuals and organizations are calling on President Widodo to grant her clemency and so tomorrow, we again add our voice to theirs,” says Jane Ordinario, Migrante-BC Coordinator. Last week, Migrante-BC organized a delegation to meet with the Indonesian Consul General and this morning, they met with Philippine Consul General Neil Ferrer.

The event tomorrow is also part of the internationally-coordinated actions led by Migrante International – and it will be held on the first day after Indonesia’s moratorium on executions end.
