Eight-division and world champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao exuded much confidence and composure as his much-awaited fight with undefeated boxer Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. approaches.

“I have peace of mind. God is with me. His strength is with me,” he said in an interview.

“Do not fear when I’m with you, do not be in dismay for I’m your God, I will strengthen you and help you and I will hold you with my righteous hand,” he added, quoting a bible verse.

Pacquiao, a born-again Christian convert, reassured his supporters that they do not have to worry too much about him.

“God is good all the time. He gives me strength, so don’t be nervous. It is I who will be fighting on top of the ring. All I need is for you to pray for me and I will take care of it in the ring,” he said.

Pacquiao himself had not shown any hint of fret when told that the Nevada State Athletic Commission would be the one to appoint judges in their upcoming showdown.

“Don’t worry about that. All things are possible with God,” he said. “I trust [the commission and the judges]. I do not have any doubts about them.”

Pacquiao had also entrusted the outcome of the fight in his deep faith.

“That’s in the hands of the Lord,” he said. “We won’t second guess him. What’s sure is we’re doing our best in training.”

‘God’s Will’

Filipino boxing icon earlier said that his bout with Mayweather was ‘God’s will.’ He also believed that it would be a way for him to testify the existence of God.

“This is the fight that will glorify God,” he said. “I believe, God will deliver him into my hands. His defeat would make him realize that fame, money and material possessions are nothing without God in our life.”
