MANILA — Normal operations in 14 train sets of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) resumed Tuesday afternoon after experiencing a technical glitch in the morning.
MRT-3 Director for Operations Renato San Jose told reporters that the trains had been sent to the depot after a glitch in its air-conditioning system.
Little detail was provided about the said glitch.
To recall, only five MRT-3 trains out of the usual 10 to 15 trains were running by noon time leading to a build-up of passengers in its stations.
Reports showed that hundreds of passengers were stranded after they were forced to get off before their respective stops.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that around 10,000 passengers were affected by the train system’s limited operations.
Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) spokesman Migs Sagcal later announced that 14 MRT trains operating after six of its trains encountered problems.
“Fourteen train sets now running, up from (five) train sets earlier this afternoon,” Sagcal said via Twitter.
Despite regular glitches being encountered at the MRT-3, DOTC maintains that it is working on its best efforts to address these problems.
