Actor Sylvester ‘Rocky’ Stallone was spotted leaving the Wild Card Boxing Gym last Saturday after visiting Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao, watching him train for his much-awaited fight against Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather Jr. on May 2 (May 3 in the Philippines) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Stallone watched attentively at Pacquiao in his two sparring sessions. The actor was then convinced that Pacquiao will indeed defeat the undefeated Mayweather.
Ironically, Mayweather earlier said that he wanted to go ‘Rocky’ on Pacquiao. He even completed his training with the chopping of wood, Rocky’s famous training montage.
Last year, Stallone’s support was on Chris Algieri, the American boxer who was knocked down six times and won over by Pacquiao, the Filipino boxing icon. Stallone since then knew whom to put his bet on.
Before leaving the gym, Stallone briefly answered some questions from reporters as he expressed his support for ‘Team Pacquiao.’
When asked about Pacquiao’s performance on that day’s training, Stallone replied: ‘He’s the best, he’s the best.’ Then, off he went with his metallic silver Mercedes Benz.
Aside from Stallone, other big-name celebrities including Robert Duvall, Jeremy Lin, Karl Malone, Liam Neeson, Ronda Rousey and Mark Wahlberg also visited Pacquiao as the boxer prepared for the ultimate showdown.
