MANILA — Actress Rhian Ramos will be replacing Marian Rivera in the upcoming GMA-lesbian themed TV soap of GMA 7.
Rhian will now be playing the major role of a woman who fell in love with another woman in the soap, “The Rich Man’s Daughter.”
In a statement through a Facebook post, Suzzette Doctolero confirmed that the Marian will be replaced by Rhian.
“The Rich Man’s Daughter taping today. Rhian Ramos is the new Jade replacing my dear Marian (na masaya ngayon sa kanyang medyo sensitibong ipinagbubuntis). I hope and pray that the ever loyal Marian fans / supporters will still support the show (lalo’t wala namang may kasalanan),” Doctolero said.

The announcement was made days after Rivera made a statement that she is giving up some of her projects to give way for her pregnancy.
Rhian, meanwhile, expressed excitement in playing Marian’s role adding in a statement to the entertainment portal, Pep.PH that she “looks forward to the challenge of portraying Rivera’s character.”
