Buboy Villar did’nt know audition was for little Manny role

MANILA — Young actor Buboy Villar said he did not  know that he was auditioning for the role of young Manny Pacquiao in the film, Kid Kulafu.

“They kept the role secret from me. They said the role was about a poor boy named Oscar,” Villar said in Filipino in an interview for on “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” on Wednesday.

He also said that he had a “very difficult” audition process for the film directed by Paul Soriano.

“The training was very difficult. I had to train intensively for three months.”

The 17-year-old Villar said he had trained under the guidance of Erwin Tagle, a local mixed martial arts fighter.

“Kid Kulafu” is currently showing in theaters nationwide.
