MANILA — Actor-television host Vhong Navarro expressed his sentiments about the arrest of Ferdinand Guerrero, one of those who severely beat him in January 2014.

“Tuloy po ang laban (The fight goes on.),” Navarro said, as Guerrero was taken into custody on Monday by officials of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

Although Navarro admitted the he is fearful, given that the other suspects in the mauling incident are still at large, he also shared that he is happy that one of the alleged culprits has been apprehended.

“Siyempre ako ay natutuwa na nahuli na nga at nasakote na nga ng NBI ang isa sa mga nambugbog sa akin. Ngayon unti-unti kong nakikita ang justice sa atin (Of course I am happy that one among those who beat me up has been caught and taken into custody by the NBI . Now I slowly see the justice here),” Navarro said.

“Hindi naman nawawala ‘yung takot pero ako naniniwala pa din ako sa justice natin na lahat ay magiging maayos. Siguro ako kailangan ko pang magdasal pa na sana ay magkaroon ng katarungan ang ginawa sa akin (The fear does not disappear but I believe in our justice (system) that everything will be in order. Maybe on my part I still have to pray some more that there will be justice for what was done to me),” he added.

Navarro also took the opportunity to convey his gratitude to all the people who have stood by his side and showed their support throughout trying times.

“Nagpapasalamat ako sa patuloy na nagdarasal at naniniwala sa akin. Maraming salamat dahil kayo ang dahilan bakit ako nanatiling at nagiging malakas (I would like to thank those who continually pray for me and who believe in me. Thank you very much because you are the reason that I remain strong and gain strength),” he said.
