Imelda Marcos set to attend Papal Mass in Tacloban

MANILA – Imelda Marcos, former Philippine First lady, arrived in Leyte on Friday to attend the the Mass of Pope Francis in Tacloban City today.

Imelda was accompanied by her sister, Conchita Yap, disclosed Rachel Santiago, chief of staff of Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez.

Santiago also said that Senator Bongbong Marcos, Imelda’s son, is likewise prepared to attend the Mass to be celebrated by the Holy Father at the airport of Tacloban City.

Mayor Alfredo Romualdez, Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez, Leyte Governor Dominico Petilla, Palo Mayor Remedios Petilla, and Palo Archbishop John Du will welcome the Pope upon his arrival at the tarmac of the  Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport, Santaigo added.

According to Santiago, Imelda is thankful that the Pope will be in Tacloban to confer blessings upon the people, especially upon the survivors of typhoon “Yolanda”.

Imelda was once a representative of Leyte, and hails from the city of Tacloban
