MANILA — The inmate at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City, who was a suspect in an attempted rape on an eight-year old girl last New Year’s Day, was positive of illegal drugs.

In a text message on Sunday, Justice Secretary Leila M. De Lima said that such an information was based on the report submitted to her by NBP officer-in-charge Richard Schwarzkopf.

De Lima earlier ordered the conduct of a drug test on Norvin Domingo, 34, a member of the “Bahala na Gang”.

Domingo was positively identified by a witness as the companion of the victim who entered the comfort room of the chapel at the NBP’s Maximum Security Compound (MSC) where the unconscious victim and without underwear was found.

The father of the victim is a gangmate of Domingo who was sentenced to suffer a jail term of four years and two months to eight years for the case of robbery with intimidation.
