MANILA — Justice Secretary Leila M. De Lima on Wednesday said that the Department of Justice (DOJ) will conduct a second inspection inside the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP), the target of which, are those who were also convicted of drug cases.

According to De Lima, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) is just finalizing the list of the inmates who will be the “target” of the new raid to be conducted.

De Lima expressed the belief that the selling of illegal drugs involving drug convicts will be neutralized following the transfer of their detention facility at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

She said that the movement and influence of the drug convicts were limited when they were separated from other prisoners.

During the conduct of the inspection last Monday, confiscated were firearms, illegal drugs, communications gadget, appliances and cash, in peso and dollar denominations.
