MANILA — The management of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) has announced that a 20-foot high lantern from San Fernando City, Pampanga is available for public viewing until January 4 next year.

The Ligligan Parul, or the Giant Lantern Festival, is the top tourist attraction of San Fernando City and its environs

According to CCP Performance and Exhibition Department manager Ariel Yonzon, the colorful lantern lit recently at the Main Ramp of the CCP is its joint project with the City of San Fernando.

San Fernando City’s Tourism and Investment Promotions representative Ching Pangilinan said this is the fourth occasion for both organizations to work together.

San Fernando, Pampanga is popularly known as the Christmas capital of the Philippines.

Its parol is renowned for its large size, brilliant colors, and flashing kaleidoscopic patterns made possible by the intricate electrical circuitry fashioned by the craftsmen of the place.
