ALBAY – With the departure of Typhoon Ruby from the province of Albay, some 128,000 evacuees have been allowed to return home.

The decision was made by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) of the province, as weather conditions have stabilized following the exit of the typhoon.

Despite the intensity of the typhoon which barreled through the Bicol region, minimal damage to structures and homes was reported, based on the preliminary assessment of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC).

Damage to agriculture, however, was estimated at P90-million.

The RDRRMC has yet to determine the extent of the typhoon’s impact on Cataingan, Masbate in which it made its second landfall.
