Tamayo recently announced that Vigan has successfully hurdled the first elimination round in the search for the New 7 Wonders-Cities, where 21 cities have been selected on July 7. The shortlist will be reduced to 14 on October 7 and the New 7 Wonders-Cities will be announced on December 7.
