MANILA — Gigi Reyes, the chief of staff of Senate Minority Leader Juan Ponce Enrile, on Friday also decided to surrender to Sandiganbayan after learning that a warrant of arrest was issued against her.
Accompanied by her counsel Christian Diaz, Reyes immediately proceeded to the Sheriff’s Office of the Sandiganbayan and expected to be presented to Associate Justice Amparo Cabotaje-Tang, the chairman of the Third Division who will handle her case.
Tang will issue the commitment order on where Reyes will be detained.
Earlier, Enrile decided to surrender to Camp Crame where he is about to undergo booking – – physical examination, finger printing and mugshots.
Enrile, Reyes and 15 other co-respondents were charged by the Ombudsman in connection with the plunder and graft charges filed against them for allegedly amassing P172 million in pork barrel kickbacks from 2003 to 2010.
