5 Luzon dams’ water level continues to decline

Despite afternoon and evening rain, water levels in five major dams in Luzon continued to fall on Friday.

The five dams include Angat Dam in Bulacan which had its level fall by 0.22 meter from Thursday.

Angat Dam which supplies more than 90 percent of Metro Manila’s water needs had its water level down from 177.2 meters on Thursday to 176.98 meters as of 6 a.m. Friday.

Meanhile, the weather bureau has earlier warned the country for a possible onset of El Nino toward the end of 2014.

Four other dams which also had its water level fall in the last 24 hours included:
– La Mesa (Quezon City): 77.68 meters from 77.72 meters Thursday
– Ambuklao (Benguet): 740.76 meters from 740.79 meters Thursday
– San Roque (Pangasinan-Benguet): 236.37 from 236.52 meters Thursday
– Magat (Isabela): 166.85 from 167.05 meters Thursday

While the four dams went declining four other major dams went up, including:
– Ipo (Bulacan): 99.77 from 99.67 meters Thursday
– Binga (Benguet): 568.06 from 567.59 meters Thursday
– Pantabangan (Nueva Ecija): 182.33 from 182.29 meters Thursday
– Caliraya (Laguna): 286.21 from 286.2 meters Thursday.
