MANILA — Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 150 Presiding Judge Elmo Alameda on Friday suspended the transfer order of the alleged P10-billion pork barrel fund scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles back to Fort Sto. Domingo due to bleeding episodes.

The said court is handling the serious illegal detention case of Napoles, which is a non-bailable offense.

Alameda made the order during the hearing of Napoles’ motion to recall its May 20 order, directing police to bring her back to the detention cell.

Napoles was confined at the Ospital ng Makati (Osmak) since March 31 for the treatment of cyst in her uterus.

Once she fully recovers, Napoles will be brought back to Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, where she has been detained for her serious illegal detention case filed by pork barrel fund scam whistleblower Benhur Luy.

During Friday hearing, Napoles’ doctors, Dr. Efren Domingo, who took the witness stand, said Napoles was bleeding as a result of a relapse that could have been induced by stress.

He added that while Napoles was on her 2nd non-bleeding day, she would need seven days free from bleeding before she could be discharged.

Napoles’ doctors said she has been suffering from vaginal bleeding since May 17.

Domingo said he advised Napoles to have complete bed rest during their follow up checkup inside Osmak.

“Her personal crisis is obvious on her face. She did not sleep several nights. She is very mobile in her room. I see boxes of documents in her room,” Domingo explained.

On Wednesday, Napoles lawyer appealed to Makati court to recall and set aside its order for her return to Fort Sto. Domingo.

Atty. Faye Isaguirre Singson, one of Napoles’ lawyers, also asked Judge Alameda, for her client to stay at Ospital ng Makati, for her regular pelvic examination until the cause of her bleeding is determined and given proper medical attention.

Singson said the patient was checked by her OB-Gynecologist — Dr. Elsie Badillo-Pascua and Dr. Efren Domingo, both from St. Luke’s Medical Center on Tuesday night, and recommended Napoles’ hospital confinement.

According to the progress report prepared by Pascua and Domingo, Napoles started complaining of vaginal spotting on May 17 and she was referred to them on May 19 due to vaginal bleeding.

Because of Napoles’ condition, the doctors ordered her complete bed rest and avoid straining, lifting and stress.

The doctors are also set to conduct pelvic examinations regularly on Napoles.

Napoles underwent total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-ophorectomy or removal of her entire uterus and both ovaries.

Apart from serious illegal detention case, she is also facing plunder charges in connection with the alleged pork barrel scam together with some legislators and government officials.
