MANILA — The Department of Justice (DOJ) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will consult with the Office of the Ombudsman (Ombudsman) about the subpoena issued by the Senate ordering Benhur Luy to turn over to the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee his hard drive device.
Luy, prime whistleblower in the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam, was ordered to turn over the hard drive containing the his alleged records of personalities who transacted with Janet Lim Napoles.
Napoles is the alleged “brains” behind the P10-billion pork barrel and the P900-million Malampaya Fund scams.
According to Justice Secretary Leila M. De Lima, they needed to consult the Ombudsman about the subpoena because the files contained in the hard drive are included in the pieces of evidence in the case filed by the NBI against some lawmakers implicated in the pork barrel scam.
Also included in the hard drive of Luy, De Lima said, are data used as basis of the NBI and the Field Investigation of the Office of the Ombudsman in their respective fact-finding investigation.
Luy has until Wednesday to turn over the hard drive to the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee.
