MANILA (PNA) — If summoned by the Senate again, the camp of businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles said on Monday they are ready to appear before the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing.

However, according to Atty. Bruce Rivera, legal counsel of Napoles, it is necessary that they should first officially communicate with the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Office of the Ombudsman who are investigating the alleged Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) misuse.

Napoles is the alleged “brains” behind the P10-billion pork barrel and the P900-million Malampaya Fund scams.

The official communication, Rivera said, is geared toward determining up to what should be the scope of the matter that must be disclosed in the Senate investigation.

He stressed that they would not want to preempt the investigation of the DOJ and the Ombudsman.

Rivera added that they are acknowledging and respecting the power of the Senate to issue subpoena and call for an investigation.
