In fulfilling its public and cultural diplomacy functions, the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah participated in the American International School of Jeddah’s (AISJ) “International Day” celebration at the school’s campus on March 27.
During the activity, the AISJ opened its campus to the public and welcomed parents and invitees of different nationalities to offer them glimpses of countries around the world. This is meant to enhance the cultural awareness of their local and international students including their parents, to the various countries that compose the international community in Jeddah. Booths were set up around the campus’ football field, by 15 Consulates. The Consulate General distributed tourism brochures, Filipino snacks and other food products.
Traditional songs and dances were performed during the event, which started at 12:00 p.m. and ended at 7:00 p.m. The Filipino parents and students of AISJ performed the “Tinikling” dance during the occasion.
