MANILA, Philippines – Vhong Navarro is back.

On Saturday, March 8, the noontime show host made his first appearance on “It’s Showtime” after over a month of absence—due to the alleged mauling incident that happened on January 22.

The emotional Navarro was welcomed by his co-hosts who were also in tears as they witnessed the comeback of the host-dancer.

The 37-year-old actor thanked all the people who have supported him in his recent ordeal. Included in his thank-you list were his legal team, the officers of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), his ABS-CBN and “It’s Showtime” colleagues, the public, his son, his girlfriend and God.

Navarro’s speech

Ang hirap po iparatang sa iyo ang bagay na hindi mo ginawa,” (It’s hard to be accused of something you didn’t do), Navarro continued his speech.

Hindi ko alam kung magiging ako pa rin ‘yong dating makulit, ‘yong dating masayahin, pero susubukan ko po,” he said. (I don’t know if I can be the old playful and cheerful person, but I will try.)

Towards the end of his speech, he said that making people happy is what keeping him strong.

(That’s the reason why I remain strong to face all the challenges in my life. That’s also the reason why I am standing here in front of you. That’s the reason why I really wanted to come back to work, because that’s me. I just want to make people happy.)

The comedian in him showed when he popped out a joke as he thanked his doctors in St. Luke’s Medical Center.

Salamat Doc Kurt, walang pagbabago, balik sa dati,” he joked, bringing amusement to the audience.

(To my doctors in St. Luke’s who took care of me, thank you, especially to Doc Kurt. He’s the one who fixed my nose, which, up to now, is still flat. He said a sharp nose wouldn’t look good on me. Thank you Doc Kurt, nothing changed, back to the way it was before.)

Before the show ended, Vhong gave in to the request of the audience and performed his signature dance moves.

Navarro recently filed perjury complaints against Cedric Lee, Deniece Cornejo and Roxanne Cabanero—after the three filed rape cases against the host-actor. At present, the evidence presented points that Navarro is innocent.
