PNP-CITF nabs cop for robbery-extortion in Marikina

MANILA–The Philippine National Police Counter-Intelligence Task Force (PNP-CITF) arrested a policeman in Marikina City for robbery-extortion early Sunday.

The suspect was identified as SPO1 Gomercindo Digma, who was arrested at around 1:20 a.m. Sunday at the Atchas Grill located in JP Rizal, Marikina City, after he personally received the marked money from the complainant.

Digma, a police non-commissioned officer (PNCO), is a member of the San Mateo, Rizal PNP who allegedly demanded from the complainant PHP5,000 in order to return a sex video of the latter which was in his possession.

Probe showed that Digma obtained the sex video from the cellphone of the complainant’s live-in partner whom he has previously arrested for reckless imprudence.

The suspect is now in the Office of CITF for documentation and processing for filing of appropriate criminal and administrative cases against him.
