PNP- DEG launches ops to recapture Korean-American drug supplier
MANILA—The Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP DEG) has launched manhunt operations to recapture a Korean-American drug supplier who escaped while on hospital detention last Black Saturday.
In a press conference in Camp Crame, Quezon City on Monday, PNP DEG Public Information Office (PIO) chief and spokesman Supt. Enrico Rigor said continuous manhunt operations are ongoing to recapture Jun No, the American citizen of Korean descent who was arrested for selling 140 tablets of ecstasy last April 5, who escaped from hospital detention on April 15, 2017 at about 6:10 a.m.
Rigor added that the PNP DEG has already coordinated with the Bureau of Immigration (BI), airport and seaport authorities as well as airline and shipping companies.
The PNP DEG official noted that Jun No is a ”big time” supplier of party drugs in the Ermita-Malate, Manila area and is also involved in prostitution.
Jun No alias “Jazz” complained of lower abdominal pain last April 10, prompting the attending physician to recommend him for further examination since he was showing signs of acute appendicitis.
He was immediately brought to the PNP General Hospital, where his attending physician concluded that he needs to undergo medical examination for acute appendicitis.
Jun No was immediately brought and admitted to the East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC) and later underwent medical operation for acute appendicitis.
Probe showed that Jun No has a companion identified as Darleen Son alias “Soeyang”, who gave him PHP3,000 which was used by the latter to escape from hospital when his guard SPO2 Michael Macarubbo went out for breakfast while the PDEA (Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency) agent IO2 Ernie Eugnio was sleeping beside him.
Rigor said that Son was arrested by the PNP- DEG and a case for obstruction of justice was filed against her before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
He added that a case for evasion through negligence was also filed against Macarubbo and Eugnio for allowing Jun No to escape. They are also facing administrative case for serious neglect of duty.
