MANILA—In compliance with a directive from the National Telecommunications Commission, Globe Telecom will temporarily suspend mobile services in areas surrounding Quiapo Church from Maundy Thursday (April 13) to Easter Sunday (April 16), as part of the government’s security measures during the Lenten season.
This means that Globe customers within the vicinity may not be able to access call, text and mobile data services during this period.
Globe Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications Yoly Crisanto said that mobile services, including internet connection, would be restored as soon as the NTC has given clearance for the company to do so.
“We appeal for our customers’ understanding during this temporary shutdown of mobile services in the said area,” she said.
