MANILA—A quake of tectonic origin rocked Batangas province anew on Saturday.
Initial data from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) show that at 3:07 p.m., a magnitude 5.6 quake struck 2 km. north, 68 degrees west of Batangas’ Mabini municipality at a depth of 4 km.
Phivolcs is not expecting damages but is anticipating aftershocks from the quake.
The agency will give an update on the quake as soon as information becomes available.
