MANILA—Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera and Ilocos regions in Northern Luzon, Caraga and Davao regions in Mindanao and Eastern Visayas Region as well as Auroraprovince, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 24-hour forecast released Saturday afternoon (April 1).

PAGASA also forecast partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and rest of the country.

Tail-end of a cold front affects Northern Luzon while the easterlies affect the country’s eastern section, said PAGASA.

Moderate to strong winds from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and Eastern Visayas while coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

“Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas,” PAGASA also said.

PAGASA noted strong to gale-force winds associated with surge of the northeast monsoon or ‘amihan’ may affect Northern Luzon’s seaboard covering Calayan and Babuyan islands as well as Batanes, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Isabela, Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan provinces.

Expected 52 kph to 63 kph winds could fan there rough to very rough seas and waves up to 4.5 meters high, PAGASA said in its gale warning released Saturday afternoon.

“Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves,” AGASA added.
