JBC announces openings for SC, Ombudsman, LEB posts

MANILA—The Supreme Court through the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) on Monday announced openings for Associate Justice in Supreme Court and positions at the Office of the Ombudsman and the Legal Education Board (LEB).

In a statement, JBC has declared open for application the position of Supreme Court Associate Justice pending the mandatory retirement of Justice Bienvenido L. Reyes.

Justice Reyes compulsory retires when he turns 70 on July 6.

The JBC also said the opening for application or recommendation the positions of Special Prosecutor of the Office of the Ombudsman and three regular members of the LEB.

Barreras-Sulit will end on March 11; while those of LEB Regular Members Dean Fe Bataller Aňonuevo (representing the Philippine Association of Law Schools), Atty. Manuel R. Riguera (Philippine Association of Law Professors), and Dean Antonio H. Abad (Ranks of Active Law Practitioners) all ended last January 13.

For those interested the applications/recommendations should be submitted to the JBC Secretariat, 2nd Floor, Centennial Bldg., Supreme Court, Padre Faura, Manila.
